FUGŌ is a Malaysian alternative indie pop rock band formed in October 2019 and has evolved into a strong trio of Hakim Kamal (vocalist, guitarist, flugalist), Kayrol Ami (bassist) & Fai (keyboardist). Their music is a mixture of vintage electro vibes with a modern sound, drawing influences from late 70’s, 80’s pop, funk, modern rock and new wave music. FUGŌ released their debut single titled ‘Waiting’ in February 2020 that reached almost 3,000 views on YouTube in the first two months. FUGŌ released their now-legendary self-titled EP in April 2021 which included crowd-favourites “Lagu Balada Kala Hujan” & their stellar collaboration with Bil Musa, “Moon & The Sun”. After a brilliant powerhouse showing with the ethereal Heidi Moru through the haunting “As Long As We Stay” single in 2022, 2024 sees FUGŌ staking their claim as a formidable force with their highly-anticipated debut album “99” which has already garnered critical acclaim with the album-titled single “99” and the melancholically gorgeous “Pentas Sandiwara”.
