A kind of Spanish supergroup that transcends generational boundaries, G-5 came together in March of 2006. After formally organizing itself, the band began to compose and record in Jemez de la Frontera (in the region of Andalusia, where flamenco is from) later that spring. Comprised of four guitars (Kiko Veneno, Muchachito, and Marcos "Canijo" Del Ojo and Diego "Raton" Pozo from Los Delinquentes) and one cajón player (Tomasito), G-5 released their debut album, Tucaratupapi, a mixture of pop, jazz, and flamenco, during November of that same year. ~ Marisa Brown, Rovi
