Gaspar Claus is a cellist, composer, and sonic explorer. The son of flamenco guitarist Pedro Soler, he grew up in a world where music flowed freely between genres and generations. Trained in classical cello from an early age, he quickly broke away from convention to turn the instrument into a tool for exploration, escape, and dialogue. He has composed original scores for several award-winning feature films — Makala, Le Fil — which have taken him more than once to the Cannes Film Festival.

His debut solo album, Tancade (InFiné, 2021), acclaimed by critics and warmly received by audiences, established him as a singular voice, blending soundscapes, sensitive avant-garde, and raw emotion. He has collaborated with artists such as Rone, Barbara Carlotti, Keiji Haino, and Serge Teyssot-Gay — to name just a few. He is currently working on a new multisensory stage project in collaboration with producer Basile3, which will result in a new album to be released on InFiné.

He is also the founder of the label Les Disques du Festival Permanent, a haven for unruly music and collective invention.
