Giorgio Gigli is a Roman DJ and producer who creates spacy, hypnotic minimal techno. His heavily atmospheric, subtly detailed tracks often push past the ten-minute mark, creating stark but ever-changing alien landscapes. A longtime DJ, Gigli began writing music in 1999, releasing his first 12", "Chiki Disco" (a collaboration with Donato Dozzy), on Elettronica Romana in 2004. He released several additional records on the label until 2006, after which he released material on Dumb-Unit and Mental Groove Records. In 2009, Gigli and frequent collaborator Obtane founded a label called Zooloft, and the duo released nearly a dozen collaborative 12"s that merged pulsating minimal techno with dark ambient drone. Further Gigli releases appeared on Prologue, M_REC LTD, Outis Music, and other labels. In 2015, Electric Deluxe released Gigli's debut full-length album, The Right Place Where Not to Be, which took his sound in a slower, murkier, more industrial direction. ~ Paul Simpson, Rovi
