Giovanni Ceccarelli is a French / Italian pianist, composer, arranger and educator. He lives in Paris, France
His numerous artistic projects present a repertoire based on original compositions, own renditions of music by great contemporary composers - such as Ennio Morricone, Tom Jobim, Ivan Lins and Michel Legrand - and live soundtracks to silent movies.
In 2014 his album "InventaRio Incontra Ivan Lins" received a nomination for the Latin Grammy Awards.
His discography amounts to sixty albums recorded as a soloist, guest soloist, arranger, producer and sideman. He gives concerts all over the world, collaborating live and in the recording studio with world-class artists such as Ivan Lins, Chico Buarque, Lee Konitz, Benny Golson, Marisa Monte, Kenny Wheeler and Enrico Rava.
He teaches jazz, giving courses, seminars, master classes and conferences all over the world. He currently works as a jazz piano educator at the music conservatories CRR in Cergy-Pontoise and CRD Quincy Jones at Mantes-la-Jolie, France.
Giovanni's upcoming release is entitled "Le Grand Michel", a tribute to composer Michel Legrand in duo with his longtime music partner Ferruccio Spinetti, starring guest artists André Ceccarelli, Enrico Pieranunzi, Camille Bertault, Chiara Civello and David Linx.
