A self-professed ODD FISH, GIYA is an artist of many faces; a producer, singer-songwriter, and the bass player for Hak Baker, she believes in art from within.
Born and bred in South London, her brutal, but vulnerable storytelling has drawn her plenty of plaudits, willing to go places and touch subjects most are not. GIYA uses music to locate a path towards the truth.
Such “thought-provoking and raw” work (CLOUT Magazine) landed her a recent spot on Wonderland’s ‘Wonderlist’, as well as a performance at Glastonbury’s Strummerville last year, and as support for Hak Baker’s World End tour closing show at KOKO Camden.
With backing from Jess Izsatt from BBC Radio 1 across several songs and Spotify editorial playlist support on New Music Friday, Fresh Finds UK & IRE and RADAR Global, GIYA returns in 2025 with her new single SCORECARD.
