He also composes film and animation music, and is active under the name GORO ITO ENSEMBLE, MOOSE HILL and in the bossa nova duo naomi & goro.
While pursuing his own music with profound taste of Bossa Nova, he has played in genre-straddling style of music such as classic and rock, etc. Besides his own work he has collaborated with various musicians including Ryuichi Sakamoto, Haruomi Hosono and Yukihiro Taskahashi.
In 2013, his tribute album "Getz/Gilberto + 50", celebrating the 50th anniversary of the famous bossa nova album "Getz/Gilberto", won the first prize at the Brazilian Disc Awards.
In 2015, Goro Ito + Jaques Morelenbaum's "Rendezvous in Tokyo" won the 2nd prize at the Brazilian Disc Awards.
In 2017, 90th anniversary year of Antonio Carlos Jobim’s birth, he produced a Jobim tribute album Goro Ito Ensemble “Architect Jobim” It won the first prize at Hi-Res Audio Award and the Brazilian Disc Award 2nd Prize.
In 2020, he produced music for animated TV program “Arte”.
