笹子重治（アコースティック・ギター）秋岡欧（バンドリン）沢田穣治（コントラバス）の３人によって89年に結成された弦楽ユニット.
ブラジルの伝統的な都市型インストゥルメンタル・ミュージック「ショーロ」にインスパイアされながらも、全く独自のサウンドを創造する。90年にファンハウスレコードと契約、94年までに５枚のＣＤをリリースしたのを皮切りに、現在までにソニーレコード、キングレコード、オーマガトキ、ビクター、ソングXジャズなどから、計２４枚のＣＤを発表している。その活動のフィールドは、通常のコンサートホールやライブハウスだけでなく、美術館やギャラリー、神社仏閣、ジャズフェス、ストリートに至るまで幅広い。

(Choro Club is ) A string band formed in 1989 by Shigeharu Sasago (acoustic guitar), Oh Akioka(Bandolim), and Joji Sawada (contrabass).They were inspired by the traditional instrumental music of urban style in Brazil,”Choro”, and they create sound which is completely original.Contracted with Fun House Records in 1990, released 5 CDs by 1994, and has released a total of 24 CDs from Sony Records, King Records, Omagatoki, Victor, Song X Jazz, etc. Their activities have broad-based field which are not only ordinary concert halls and live houses, but also museums, galleries, shrines and temples, jazz festivals, and streets.
