Gotcha! is a funk band from Haarlem, the Netherlands, known for their explosive mix of funk, rock & hip-hop.
Formed in 1986, the band drew inspiration from icons like George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic, delivering a unique sound often described as “futuredelic rock 'n' roll.”
They gained national attention in 1991 with their debut album Words and Music from da Lowlands, followed by Gotcha! Gotcha! Gotcha! in 1993 and Gotcha Four: It’ the Terra P-Funk from Beyond Space in 1995 , each release expanding their adventurous, genre-blending approach.
In 2004, Gotcha! released Gotcha! 5, marking a new phase for the band with a refreshed lineup.
After a period of silence, Gotcha! returned in 2015 with Back to the Moon, which saw the band nearly back to its original lineup with E1Ten back as the front vocalist, featuring Nyjolene Grey as part of the group, contributing to the album’s modern pop-rock funk sound while staying true to their roots.
With a rich history, Gotcha! remains a cult favorite in the Dutch music scene.
