                                    Urban Dance Squad
Patrick Tilon/Rude Boy - vocals / René van Barneveld/Tres Manos - guitar / Silvano Matadin/Silly Sil - bass / Michel Schoots/Magic Stick - drums / Arjen de Vreede/DJ DNA - turntables.
December 20, 1986 marks the first UDS band meeting, intended for just one jam session at a festival in Utrecht, the Netherlands, on January 11, 1987. In a 45-minute off-the-cuff jam session a sound cocktail is brewed that is literally unheard of. Both press and audience are baffled. New is the live strength: drums, bass, guitar, with added elements from hiphop: rap and scratch. In 1989 the first album Mental Floss for the Globe (including Deeper Shade of Soul) is released. It’s a major success and acts as an eye-opener to an entire generation of new musicians and bands. In the States, UDS is signed by Clive Davis at Arista Records. Life 'n Perspectives of a Genuine Crossover, the second album, is an even more kaleidoscopic sequel to the first one. While on tour, in 1993, DJ DNA decides to leave the band. In 1994 the remaining 4 band members release Persona Non Grata on Virgin Records. Demagogue is a clubhit everywhere. The fourth album, Planet Ultra takes the band to SKC, Belgrade. The memorable recordings of this show will later be released as Beograd Live. In 1997 DNA rejoines the band. The original five-piece band releases Artantica in 1999. When on February 2, 2000 Tres Manos announces that he is to leave the Urban Dance Squad, the band decides to end all its activities.
