When Michelle Darkness played the final show of Austrian gloom-rock band Jack Frost, it was never meant to be a new beginning. With singer Phred Phinster losing his voice due to cancer, the concert became a farewell shaped by silence.
But in that moment, something shifted: this could not be the end.
GRAVE DANCE COMPANY was born.
What began as a one-off encounter revealed a deeper connection between members of Jack Frost and German dark rock veterans End Of Green – a bond spanning over three decades.
Yet GRAVE DANCE COMPANY is not a continuation or tribute. It is its own band.
Music is created in a fragmented process between Linz and distance recording sessions. This method became the creative core: each song captures a specific moment in time.
With Ruins, out September 25th, 2026 via Reaper Entertainment, the band delivers stripped-down, direct songs – reduced to essence, driven by strong hooks and a voice balancing fragility and force.
Ruins reflects loss, impermanence, and time – asking what remains of people and memories once everything fades.
