Harshadewa Ariyasinghe is a Sri Lankan singer-songwriter based in the UK. He was born to a family of musicians. While his father, W.D. Ariyasinghe, was a renowned singer, his mother, Darshani Chandrasena, is a celebrated musician, teacher, and producer who has contributed much to Harshadewa’s music background and education. Above all, his maternal grandfather Maestro R A Chandrase was an iconic composer from the 40s to the 80s.
Harshadewa’s eastern classical mixed contemporary singing style could be described as a unique fusion of both worlds. His remake of the most popular song of his grandfather “Dasabaladhari - Single” has shown the versatility of his vocals.
Not stopping there, he also created a pop song for the mass category of Sri Lankan music called “Nobala - Single” in 2015. In 2018 he produced another contemporary R&B Pop mega-hit song called “Heena Maka” Featuring Ravi Jay with the songwriters Charitha Attalage, Arosha Adhikari, and Ravi Jay.
He then wrote and produced the single Ayasaye and then released another hit single called Samarum Sena.
