Harshadewa Ariyasinghe is a Sri Lankan singer-songwriter based in the UK. He was born to a family of musicians. While his father, <a href="spotify:artist:7xOKqJeGR2Z16Zu2U3CvvJ" data-name="W.D. Ariyasinghe">W.D. Ariyasinghe</a>, was a renowned singer, his mother, Darshani Chandrasena, is a celebrated musician, teacher, and producer who has contributed much to Harshadewa’s music background and education. Above all, his maternal grandfather Maestro R A Chandrase was an iconic composer from the 40s to the 80s.
Harshadewa’s eastern classical mixed contemporary singing style could be described as a unique fusion of both worlds. His remake of the most popular song of his grandfather “<a href="spotify:album:4k4KojwCYUmx429PqkSHc6" data-name="Dasabaladhari - Single">Dasabaladhari - Single</a>” has shown the versatility of his vocals.
Not stopping there, he also created a pop song for the mass category of Sri Lankan music called “<a href="spotify:album:2zkQBqn70qbJKj7IXfxUZA" data-name="Nobala - Single">Nobala - Single</a>” in 2015.
