Upcoming album, MIDLIFE, marks a bold turn towards an electronic dance sound, infused with a dollop of '90s nostalgia. Embracing a blend of energetic bangers and introspective tunes, the album explores themes of transition and personal evolution, from the throes of emotional upheaval to the profound journey into motherhood. This deeply personal project, developed over two years amidst significant life changes, stands as HOLT's most intimate work to date. HOLT is a London-based artist and multi-instrumentalist, crafting otherworldly tunes by blending ethereal vocals, deep basslines and banger beats. Picking up the piano, flute, guitar, and violin independently, her songwriting journey kick-started with a Tascam 4-track cassette recorder gifted on her seventh birthday. Her music draws from a diverse palette of influences: the artistry of Bjork, Bat for Lashes, and Enya; the rhythms of Massive Attack and Nils Frahm; and the stark simplicity of Philip Glass and Max Richter. Her latest project echoes the infectious romper stomper of Roisin Murphy and Alison Goldfrapp.
