Hydal

From the tender age of 13 years the Spanish town St. Catherine born artiste Akeem Anthony Robinson decided that he wanted to pursue music and never looked back. With a church choir singing mother one would think the artiste would choose gospel, however Hydal would be inspired by Bob Marley, Buju Banton and Bounty Killer and take the tumultuous route of reggae and dancehall.
Hydal made it to the finals of the local talent competition Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall in 2014 after 2 unsuccessful attempts in previous years. The artiste believed this was a perfect platform to showcase his talent and he was determined to have Jamaica see him shine. After placing second in the competition and releasing his debut single ‘Board House’ which was trending nicely.
In 2017 he got another highlight with his viral spoof single ‘Mee Did Tell Yuh’ Which received radio play and some attention in the dancehall space but it wasn’t until 2019 that the artiste would get his big break when he recorded the hit single ‘Rental’.
With the release of the ‘Rental’ single produced by Spanish Town based label Yard Of Fame Music during the summer the artiste has seen a surge in his social media and local fan base and has garnered a Caribbean following across many islands including Trinidad, Dominica and Barbados.


Hydal has already released additional tracks ‘King Ting’ and ‘Tourist’ and has been in the studio everyday making music as he plans to dominate
