Born in the Bernese Oberland and discovered on SoundCloud , one single upload and suddenly a publishing deal was on the table. What followed were years of writing songs for others: rappers, international DJs, pop stars, TikTok sensations. Some songs ended up “on hold” for Rihanna or Fred again, others were released anonymously as ghostwritten hits.
But over time, a feeling of emptiness crept in. “I realised I had almost lost my passion for music, and that’s when I knew I had to find it again. Just like when I was a music-obsessed teenager, full of dreams and optimism,” ILIRA says today. So she parted ways with her label, management, and publisher , a risky move, but one that gave her back something priceless: the joy and unstoppable urge to make music.
Today, ILIRA works independently, writes autobiographical lyrics, co-produces her songs, and plays instruments herself. Her current project is more personal than anything she has done before ,organic, raw, and intimate. Music that is more than a product: an invitation to step into her world, her perception, and her inner life.
With a four-octave vocal range, a style that defies categorisation, and a mindset that places authenticity above fame, ILIRA stands for a generation of artists who would rather follow their own path than bend to fit the mould.
