Ill Considered formed in 2017, after Emre Ramazanoglu and Idris Rahman played together on some sessions and were motivated to try a new, fully improvised project with drums, bass, sax (and occasionally) percussion. The first jam they recorded was then mixed and mastered in the same 24 hours by Emre and became the band’s first album. The band continued recording everything, pressing vinyl, and distributed this via their own label. This DIY approach led to nine albums, recorded both live and in the studio over three years. They built a strong following, as well as the respect and admiration of many of the leading lights in the UK jazz scene, and beyond. In 2020 they entered into a partnership with the New Soil to release their full catalogue onto streaming platforms. In 2021 they released 'Liminal Space', which added Liran Donin on bass and expanded their improvised approach to include multiple guests, while maintaining their inimitable style. 2024 sees the release of their followup album 'Precipice'; a return to a stripped down trio setup, with everything recorded live in single takes. As ever, the band continue to push genre boundaries while staying true to their improvisational roots - locked in a telepathic groove.
