Intro To Music Theory was born out of necessity, and brought to life out of a fascination with the origins of disco, soul, and house. Most recently, the project has seen runaway success through their 2019 and 2020 tours that have hit China, Thailand, New Zealand and the United States.
International DJs, producers, and trumpet and trombone players Matthew Busch and Matt Waters have been on a whirlwind musical journey since 2009, when they first met at Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps. Initially at odds and hating each other’s guts, the two reunited in 2017 when they simultaneously moved to Haikou, China.
Both of these SoCal native brass artists have lived a diverse musical life throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, performing with symphonies, ska bands, jazz orchestras, musical theatre productions, television shows, and various other projects that defy genre.
