It all started when Larry Holcombe was the victim of an armed robbery, studying for a Biology and French degree in the South of France. The insurance money payed for a basic studio setup leading to projects covering Breaks, Drum and bass and Dubstep taking Larry all over the world from Minsk to Mumbai culminating in a peak Friday night slot at Glastonbury’s Shangri-La. However at the same time a nagging feeling was eating away at Larry. He was no longer feeling the tougher edge of club music. A sense of disillusionment was creeping in and Larry was thinking that his career as an artist may be ending leaving his focus to be solely on working as an-house mix and mastering engineer for Cr2 Records and as a music educator for Groove 3. The previous year however at a sun-drenched Glastonbury festival Larry had been asked to play a daytime slot and had done a surprise Balearic Disco set featuring tracks from the likes of @ToddTerje and @6th Borough Project etc….This led to a series of experiments trying to join the dots between a love of Disco, Soul and Boogie and happy memories of teenage years jamming in bad indie bands with mates. Support from Annie Mac, Mistajam, Danny Howard and releases on @Kitsune, Virgin/EMI, Love and Other and Warner soon followed as well as a residency at London’s Shut the Front Door sharing the stage with @FKJ, @Jungle, @Tiger & Woods, @Lindstrom and @Aeroplane, amongst others.
