Irya Gmeyner is an award-winning film composer, songwriter and music producer based in Sweden. She’s known for her expressive, suggestive music and colourful voice and has composed music for a wide array of media including TV series, films, theatre-plays and choir. Her creativity and distinctive sound have earned her the opportunity to work with acclaimed directors, composing scores for award-winning films and Tv series.  

Lately Irya has been collaborating with the pianist Martin Hederos as a film composer duo. They have been awarded several times for their music for films and TV series. They are best known for their scores for the tv series; Thin Blue Line and the films Comedy Queen and Slow. Their latest score is for the film Slow that premiered at Sundance Filmfestival and the tv series Pressure Point that premiered in Sweden 2024. They are currently working on Thin Blue Line season 3 and a tv series called The New Force, that will premiere 2025.

In parallel with her film work, Irya is also a solo artis aka April Snow. Several of her songs have been featured in leading American and Swedish TV series. Irya has worked with many well-known Swedish artists and musicians as a songwriter, producer and singer. She is also known for her collaboration with the international known contemporary circus company Cirkus Cirkör as singer and composer for several of their international show and has toured all over the world with her bands Irya’s Playground and Urga.
