A native of Washington, D.C., Issaya Rouson was raised on Jazz, R&B, Hip-Hop and Gogo and studied at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts under the mentorship of some of D.C.s best musicians. As a multi-instrumentalist and producer, he has performed with a wide range of musicians including <a href="spotify:artist:7sJEt4QPDYhjJ9tcHSlhhN" data-name="Kevin Mahogany">Kevin Mahogany</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1jBIK0MgVXiFHO3VgH2rd6" data-name="Dreamcast">Dreamcast</a>, Lori Fulton, <a href="spotify:artist:5NiwQcDZgytXXTU85IPQKX" data-name="Elijah Jamal Balbed">Elijah Jamal Balbed</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:33KVH120xKsKhJncJcaoe2" data-name="Mike Casey">Mike Casey</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:6KbP3HUlaV12rxvbSVupPK" data-name="Samuel Prather">Samuel Prather</a>. His performance work has taken him around the world to notable venues including the Kennedy Center, SOUTH Restaurant, the Supersonic Jazz Festival in Amsterdam, Jamboree in Barcelona, Jimmy Glass Jazz Club in Valencia and the Howard Theatre. In 2019 after moving to Valencia, Spain, he released his debut project <a href="spotify:album:1pdHTeK6S2zlj2jsSJWAT6" data-name="North Capitol">North Capitol</a> showcasing his skills as a pianist, drummer, poet and composer. In the same year he released the Singularity EP, a three part visual EP that explores the concept of being a one-man band through the use of live looping. This project was later featured by Ableton. Since then he has produced and released several songs, videos and EPs in collaboration with different artists, the most recent being the Viajeros EP, a collaboration with saxophonist/producer Wyldephyre.
