Jacopo Ferrazza was born in 1989.
Considered one of the most interesting European double bassists/composers, he began studying guitar at age 8, piano at 12, electric bass at 14 and double bass at 18.
He won in 2018 the SIAE award as the best Italian talent and was ranked several times among the best 3 talents by Musica Jazz magazine.
He studied bass and double bass with his father Angelo, John Patitucci, Aldo Perris, and Ares Tavolazzi and received his diploma in classical double bass with M° Luca Cola at the conservatory of Frosinone in 2015. He also obtained a degree in classical piano with M° Carlo Negroni in 2016.
Jacopo has played at major domestic festivals as well as foreign festivals and clubs in Germany, New York, Illinois, Washington, Morocco, South Korea, Finland, Turkey, Poland, Japan, Switzerland, Spain, China, Czech Republic, North Carolina, Belarus, Albania, Kosovo, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Bulgaria, and Israel.
Over the years he has collaborated with major interna:onal artists such as: Dave Liebman, Fabrizio Bosso, Nicola Piovani, Enrico Rava, George Garzone, Dayna Stephens, Enrico Pieranunzi, Greg Hutchinson, Philip Dizack, Camille Bertault, Paolo Fresu, Maurizio Giammarco, Rita Payes, Logan Richardson, Nico Gori, Javier Girotto, Rosario Giuliani, Roberto Gatto, Rita Marcotulli, Mario Biondi and many others.
He has recorded over 45 albums as a sideman and 5 as a leader.
Since 2022 he has been a lecturer on jazz ensemble music at italian conservatory Licinio Refice.
