When you think of Jared Grant, you think of SOUL! With his versatile voice, generous smile and well-honed dance moves he conquers audiences’ hearts time and time again. He can currently be seen every week on ‘MATTHIJS GAAT DOOR’ as part of the Sven Hammond Big Band on NPO1 and appeared with them at the Ziggo Dome on March 19th. At the beginning of this year he took part in the ‘Better Than Ever’ programme on RTL4 and can be seen in theatres with the Amsterdam Funk Orchestra in ‘Tribute to JAMES BROWN’.
Jared was born in Curaçao in 1991 and grew up in a close-knit musical family. At the age of six, he was still ‘singing’ like a grumble bear, much to his mother’s chagrin. But it wasn’t long before Jared, who was sometimes quite shy, discovered that he came to life on stage and could actually sing quite well.
After attending the conservatory in Rotterdam he won the audience award at the Music Matters Awards, in addition to the 3rd (jury) prize, marking the start of his career. Collaborations with Trijntje Oosterhuis and international artists such as Eliza Doolittle followed, and he has appeared on stages and programmes including The Voice of Holland, North Sea Jazz and the Paradiso. Now it’s time for new music: NEO SOUL, optimistic lyrics and boundless energy from an inspiring personality!
