Jasmin Godoy (29) is a Rotterdam born, Dutch-Brazilian singer songwriter, guitarist and viola caipira player with roots in the north of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Her music is an eclectic mix of folk, jazz and progressive rock. She describes her songs as ‘landscape songs’ that each tell a long and never repeating story.
In July of this year she released independently her debut album “Show me the Way”, that was co-produced with Grammy Nominee winner producer Leonardo Marques in Belo Horizonte. The album consists of 9 tracks, that she worked on for 8 years. It talks of grieve, re-birth and the Camino the Santhiago. The album has great influences from the sounds of Clube de Esquina, but also from her more contemporary jazz/folk education in Holland.
For three years now she’s been part of the young music scene in Minas Gerais, that gives new life to the city’s magical musical roots, but she also wants to travel the world with her music.
