Phologo Judah Mataboge , professionally known as Jay Jody , is a rapper , songwriter, singer & producer.
Born in Pretoria ; he gained popularity as one half of South African rap duo , B3nchMarQ.
Jay Jody appeared on a collaborative album with younger brother , A-Reece titled "Heaven Can Wait: the narrow door vol.1" which was released on the 10th of December, 2021.
Then he went on to release a solo project in September of 2022 titled “Sunset Stories: a mixtape” which featured formidable artists such as Marcus Harvey, Blxckie, Una Rams , Towdee Mac to name a few.
The tape displayed Jay Jody’s understanding & interpretation of SundaeBeats’ instrumentals , who solely produced the entire tape.
He expresses that he wanted to show people his range in musicality and songwriting.
With his debut solo album titled “SHINE ‘O CLOCK” now released which contains songs like “The Cool”, “Made It Anyway”, “Red & Blue” featuring 25K & “My Destiny” with an appearance by Sjava - Jay Jody has managed to further prove himself as a solid, multifaceted recording artist.
