Son of a pastor from Ipanema, João Selva is an exponent artist of Brazilian Nu Tropicália. At ease with both codified traditions and mutant aesthetics, his music is an invigorating dance and dream machine that updates the tropicalist revolution of the 70s by offering a turbulent mix of samba soul, cosmic jazz and disco funk.

His second LP "Navegar" (2021) is a masterpiece of tropical pop widely broadcasted around the world and acclaimed by critics. Known for its magnetic vocals, funky grooves and elegant melodies at the service of beautifully arranged songs.
Acknowledged as “one of the best ambassadors of Brazilian music”, Brazilian singer and songwriter continues to pour out insanely catchy tunes at an astonishing rate. He is currently touring his fourth album "Onda" released early 2025 on Underdog Records.
