Job Kurian is a singer-songwriter from Alleppey, Kerala - the land of serene backwaters. Deeply rooted in Kerala’s folk music, his sound blends world music with classical, contemporary, and alternative influences. Often described as “Kerala’s soul wrapped in an international sound,” his music resonates for its authenticity and emotional depth.
He has been recognized with multiple honors, including The Face of Independent Music in Kerala at the P Jayachandran Memorial Awards, Best Playback Singer at the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA), and Best Independent Music Award at the Mazhavil Music Awards, among others.
With over two decades in music, Job has made a mark in both the independent and playback scenes. His standout originals like Padayatra, Kannodu, and Bhaavam showcase his signature style. He has also contributed to more than 50 Malayalam film songs.
Job's presence on stage is undeniably magnetic – a powerful mix of heartfelt expression, musical finesse, and sheer energy. Whether performing at festivals like NH7 Weekender, OddBall Festival or NIT Ragam, his shows leave audiences moved and energized.
His television and indie work – Music Mojo, Straight from the Heart, Thaalam (2008), and Hope (2017) – further highlight his creative range.
Having collaborated with Avial, Shankar Tucker, Grammy-winner Ricky Kej, and composer Charan Raj, Job Kurian continues to push boundaries. “After all, my music is an extended expression of who I truly am,” he says.
