Joe Matera is an Italian-Australian singer/songwriter, guitarist, recording artist, music journalist, and author. Over the course of his illustrious performing career, he has played guitar for famed British music legend Steve Harley (of Cockney Rebel fame), performed on the festival stages in Europe and earned a Top 5 selling album on the Australian ARIA Jazz and Blues chart.
He has also supported live in concert, international acts such as Canned Heat, The Animals, Peter Criss (KISS) and Bay City Rollers to name but a few. He has also co-written and recorded with ABBA guitarist Janne Schaffer and collaborates with legendary English pop-rock group The Korgis, (who scored a worldwide hit in 1980 with "Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime") co-writing and recording new material together.
He is also a respected music journalist for music magazines such as Guitar Word and Guitar Player in the US, Record Collector and Sound On Sound in the UK among many others, and is the best-selling author of the books, ''Backstage Pass: The Grit and the Glamour' and 'Louder Than Words: Beyond The Backstage Pass'.
