John McCrea is a composer based in Dublin. His works combine elements of electronic, post-classical, minimalist, ambient and europop music and are in the main nonconceptual.
He has written extensively for theatre and dance. His rock group Swim recorded an album (Sundrive Road) for MCA with producer Gary Katz from Steely Dan. In 2014 he formed Milkweed Assassin Bug with saxophonist Ian Leslie and the duo recorded two electro-acoustic EPs (Shortplay and Misophonia).
His recent solo album Mantra Mantra was recorded with Ger McDonnell and is available for download on Spotify, iTunes and Bandcamp.
