One of the founding members of UK art punk outfit Fischer-Z, John Watts was a songwriter, musician, writer, and general media-centric jack of all trades. His foray into music began in an official manner with the formation of Fischer-Z in the mid seventies. That band would go on to sign with United Artists, tour the world and sell a good amount of records. As a solo artist, Watts first hit the shelves with One More Twist in 1982. He followed that with The Iceberg Model in 1983, but duties with Fischer-Z took center stage, and it was to be a good long while until Watts returned as a solo artist. That good long while turned out to be 14 years -- in the meantime, Fischer-Z released another five albums -- and in 2007 Watts released 13 Stories High on SPV. His 2003 project, Ether Music & Film, was a combination album and road film, and after a compilation and DVD release for Fischer-Z, Watts was back in 2007 with the double release, Real Life Is Good Enough and It Has To Be. The two were explorations in more ‘organic' music creation, and a tour followed. ~ Chris True, Rovi
