Johnny Hostile is a composer, producer . he moved to London in 2005 with musician and singer Jehnny Beth, where their project John & Jehn was born. Together, they founded Pop Noire in 2011 . Johnny released the project Lescop, for which he handled production, composition and artistic direction. He produced both albums for the band Savages, which achieved international success and 2 nominations for the mercury prize.
In 2015, Julian Casablancas and Jehnny Beth performed his cover of "Boy/Girl," Since 2016, he has produced the radio show "Start Making Sense" on Beats 1, which invites an independent and international music artist each week for 132 episodes.
For his debut album "(dys)function," released in 2018, J. Hostile liberated himself from the musical genres he had been producing for over a decade to compose music that has been central to his life : ambient and experimental.
Since 2019, Johnny Hostile has been programming and musically directing the show "ECHOES with Jehnny Beth" on ARTE, for which he developed the concept . In 2020, he produced Jehnny Beth's critically acclaimed album, co-producing it with Atticus Ross (Nine Inch Nails) and Flood (U2, Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, PJ Harvey). He also composed and arranged for Bobby Gillespie's (Primal Scream) album with Jehnny Beth, "Utopian Ashes," released in July 2021. He later became the collaborator and touring musician for Nick Cave and Warren Ellis during the Carnage tour in Europe in 2021.
