From this cinematic memory and his father, a bassist, he inherited a strong sense of rhythm and a rich blend of influences: James Brown, George Benson, Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Prince, Roy Ayers, and Quincy Jones. He draws inspiration from the latter three—though the first remain in his heart—to fully embrace his desire to do it all himself.
