Born April 3, 1991 in Jamaica, Jovainne Dieprieye Murdock was always an astute child with an ear for melodies and a vivid imagination. He grew up listening to Gospel music performed at his church or by his next door neighbors' family band, which led him to join his childhood church choir at the age of just 9 years.
His passion for music grew with his knowledge at his high school, being a part of the school choir that entered the first staging of TVJ’s "All Together Sing" competition.
While in school, he started to visit local studios and grew in knowledge of studio engineering and digital composition of music (making rhythms) of any genre. Since that time he has contributed to many world renowned projects in music, working with acts like Gyptian, Sizzla, Spice, Vershon, Busy Signal, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man and many more.
Jovi DiPree has grown into a musical enigma, contributing to many hits such as Dexta Daps' "Chinese Jordan", Vybz Kartel’s “In Stock'', Spice’s “Rolling” and many more. He’s been featured on projects such as Busy Signal’s 2019 “Parts Of The Puzzle”, Dexta Daps’ 2020 VENT album, and more.
Jovi has been forging his own path in music, and performing his own hits. In 2014 he had his first official digital release.
Jovi’s first chart entry comes with “We Outside”, which debuted at number 6 on iTunes’ US Reggae charts. His ideas have undoubtedly affected the world of Reggae and Dancehall, and we anticipate the impacts his influence will have on music overall.
