Growing up in a musical family gave JT an early start into sound and rhythmic exploration. He set on the path to becoming a working musician while playing in his father’s big band as a teen. Over the years he remained steeped in the improvised music scene, both as a performer and presenter. In 2015 he produced and released his first solo album, “Open Relationships” (Totally Gross National Product.) He continues to work on engineering and producing not just his own records, but those of other musicians.
During the past year he’s had the honor of working on recordings for a wide range of artists, including Taylor Swift (Folklore and Evermore,) Justin Vernon, Aaron Dessner, Amy Nelson & Cathy Guthrie, Beth Orton, and Anais Mitchell. JT enjoys the challenge of each new session and is grateful for the opportunity to collaborate on projects with so many talented artists. Prior to 2020 JT was actively involved with Big Red Machine, Grammy nominated Bonny Light Horseman, and Bon Iver/Tu Dance’s Come Through. He’s had the amazing opportunity to play on the stages of the Hollywood Bowl, The Kennedy Center, and Red Rocks Amphitheater.
