JT Money, born and raised in Miami, Florida, is a pioneering force in Southern hip-hop whose influence spans more than three decades. Emerging in the early 1990s as the frontman of the legendary Miami group Poison Clan, JT Money helped shape the sound and attitude of Southern rap during its formative years. With street anthems like “Shake Whatcha Mama Gave Ya” and “Dance All Night,” Poison Clan became a cornerstone of Miami bass and Southern hip-hop culture.
Launching a successful solo career, JT Money reached mainstream recognition with his 1999 breakout single “Who Dat,” featuring Sole, from his debut solo album Pimpin’ on Wax. The record became a cultural staple, solidifying his reputation for gritty realism, charismatic delivery, and unapologetic Southern authenticity.
Now more than 30 years into the game, JT Money continues to evolve while staying true to his roots. In July 2024, he released his latest album Immortal, featuring CeeLo Green, Trick Daddy, Rick Ross, 8Ball & MJG, and Trap Beckham—blending classic Southern hip-hop with modern energy for both longtime fans and a new generation.
