Canadian singer/songwriter Justin Hines launched his music career at the age of 14 after winning a radio contest that resulted in the budding musician singing the national anthem at a Toronto Raptors basketball game. Born in Newmarket, Ontario with a rare, genetic joint condition called Larsen’s syndrome, which confined him to a wheelchair, Hines continued to stay in the spotlight, performing on children’s television programs and eventually releasing a debut album called Sides. His second record, 2009’s Chasing Silver, included the hit single “Say What You Will,” and found Hines settling into a warm, soulful, and accessible '70s singer/songwriter vibe that would go on to inform 2011’s Decca-released Day to Recall as well. Along with his musical work and world travels, Hines is the founder of the Justin Hines Foundation, a charitable foundation for people with disabilities. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
