JYONGRI ジョンリ
In a country over-saturated with cookie cutter pop idol sensations, Jyongri has managed to break the mold in Japan with internationally minded lyrics and melodies accompanied by a unique soulful voice. Born and raised in Osaka Japan, Jyongri began her musical career at the age of four taking up classical piano and violin. This was followed by years of vocal training that culminated in a chance to attend the five week summer program at the world renowned Berklee College of Music at the age of fifteen. During her studies Upon her return, Jyongri teamed up with Japan’s legendary J-pop producer Akira Miyake and released her first single “Possession” from EMI Music Japan in December 2006. Subsequent singles climbed the Japanese Oricon charts and flooded the airwaves with memorable melodies marked by Jyongri’s honed vocal style and lyricism. Following a short hiatus, Jyongri is now working on her next release in which she will pay tribute to her musical influences spanning the genres of Pop, Soul, Gospel, and R&B.
大阪生まれ。 4歳でOsaka International School入学。入学と同時にクラシックピアノを習い始め、8歳の時、映画『Sister Act 2（天使にラブソングを 2）』を観て衝撃を受け、ゴスペルを習い始める。14歳で歌のレッスンを本格的に受け始め、2004年･15歳の夏、バークレー音楽院の5週間サマープロ グラム に参加する。”音楽”と”歌うこと”への興味がさらに強くなり、自ら作詞･作曲を始める。 2006年12月、シングル『Possession/My All For You』でメジャーデビュー。 Digital Single 『Purple Cloud』を2018年5月にリリース。新境地となるサウンドを発表。 東京と大阪を拠点に、ライブを中心に活動を広めている。 天性の声質を持ち、自ら作詞･作曲を手がける実力派アーティスト。
