Kaizo Slumber is a rave and hardcore project which started in late 2020, consisting of producer and vocalist Ziad. Fusing elements of digital hardcore and ‘90s rave with hardcore punk and metal, Kaizo Slumber takes on modern hardcore techno and shimmery melodic EDM while leaning heavily on the stylings of grindcore, nu metal, and other heavier styles of rock music.
The project initially began as a simple nu-rave/drum ‘n’ bass outlet, releasing 4 EPs under the title ‘Kaizo Demos’ as well as the debut album ‘The Kaizo Manifesto’ with tracks ranging from soft and delicate ambient techno and dub, to harsh and uncompromising gabber and uptempo, all with a unique sonic and visual aesthetic which draws from vaporwave and neo-Y2K, dubbed as ‘slumberkei.’ However with the release of the double single ‘Gengar Ecstasy / Motherfucking Space Angels from Cyrene!’ more hardcore elements were added and the already fast-paced nature of the music intensified; culminating in the release of Kaizo Slumber’s sophomore album ‘How Are We Feeling Today?’ which took on the same colourful and nostalgic aesthetics of previous Kaizo Slumber projects but took on digital hardcore, cybergrind and post-hardcore instead. In late 2023, Jono joined live drumming duties until 2025.
