UK singer-songwriter Katherine Priddy returns March 6 2026 with her third album These Frightening Machines (Cooking Vinyl), her most adventurous and sonically expansive work to date. Produced by Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey, Anna Calvi), the record explores themes of womanhood, identity, connection and resilience, written as Priddy moved from her 20s into her 30s. Its first single, “Matches”—a powerful feminist anthem reclaiming the voices of women silenced by history—is out now.
Since emerging with her acclaimed debut The Eternal Rocks Beneath (2021) and follow-up The Pendulum Swing (2024)—both No.1 UK Folk Albums—Priddy has been hailed as one of Britain’s most arresting new voices. With support from Richard Thompson, Guy Garvey, Iggy Pop and more, her music has earned widespread national radio play, five-star reviews, and festival stages including Glastonbury (broadcast live on BBC Two), Green Man, End of the Road and the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.
Alongside headline tours and collaborations with the Poet Laureate Simon Armitage and Johnny Flynn (for the 2025 film Four Letters of Love), she has also shared bills with Suzanne Vega, The Chieftains and Loudon Wainwright III.
