Kavya Ajit

Kavya Ajit is a trained Carnatic musician, western violinist , song writer and a live performer. She is also a playback singer and has recorded songs in all the South Indian languages and has worked with reputed music directors like A R Rahman, Ouseppachan, Shaan Rahman, Gopi Sunder, Deepak Dev and Rahul Raj. In her career spanning 9 years so far, she has sung more than 25 songs in films and has rendered her voice for a lot of successful jingles and independent albums. Her songs in Jacobinte Swargajaryam, Irupathiyonnam noottandu,Vimaanam, Hey Jude, Jo and the Boy and Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal topped the charts.
Although she began her career as a playback singer, she has now found her voice as an independent artist, making her own music as well as recreating popular Carnatic compositions in ways that are appealing to the masses . Having realised the true beauty and potential of Carnatic music , she believes it is her duty to pass on this vital part of Indian culture to the future generations.
Kavya’s Carnatic music inspired live music concept “Iham Kavyam Experience” aims at taking traditional Indian music to the global audience.
