Occupying the same '80s-inspired electro-pop territory as <a href="spotify:artist:5TfnQ0Ai1cEbKY5katFK14">Ladyhawke</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:4GLJPBj5Cdr9AgLKvLWM4n">Dragonette</a>, Kish Mauve are an English synth-based duo, best known for their work with Australian pop princess <a href="spotify:artist:4RVnAU35WRWra6OZ3CbbMA">Kylie Minogue</a>. Originally a three-piece girl band, they released a self-titled EP in 2005 before lead singer Mima Stilwell teamed up with producer Jim Eliot to form a new outfit inspired by the sounds of <a href="spotify:artist:1aSxMhuvixZ8h9dK9jIDwL">Kate Bush</a>, early <a href="spotify:artist:0NKDgy9j66h3DLnN8qu1bB">Eurythmics</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:0dmPX6ovclgOy8WWJaFEUU">Kraftwerk</a>. While working on their debut album with <a href="spotify:artist:3pAVaThptde5bneOqDfY1I">Dave Bascombe</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:762310PdDnwsDxAQxzQkfX">Depeche Mode</a>), they temporarily recruited guitarist James Sedwards and drummer Fraser Robb before releasing debut single, "Modern Love," a year later. Following the use of their material in U.S. drama Dirty Sexy Money, a Kate Moss Rimmel advert, and a Sony Ericsson phone campaign, they eventually released their first album, Black Heart, through their own label, <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22YNYS+Recordings%22">YNYS Recordings</a>, in 2009. They have since become established songwriters for other artists including <a href="spotify:artist:2cBh5lVMg222FFuRU7EfDE">Sophie Ellis-Bextor</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7Defmv25Kj9knpobhHIghm">Alphabeat</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:3KshwzAIDBZRPr5Xc7S79C">Operator Please</a>, but their biggest success has been with <a href="spotify:artist:4RVnAU35WRWra6OZ3CbbMA">Kylie Minogue</a>, whose lead singles for 2007's X ("2 Hearts") and 2010's Aphrodite ("All The Lovers"), were both penned by the duo.
