"Koohiar Peik" (March 3, 1991) is a Kurdish composer, pianist, conductor, and film composer, born in Sanandaj, Kurdistan Rojhelat (Eastern Kurdistan). He began playing the piano when he was 17 years old. Since the early 2010s, he has enjoyed a successful career in both piano solo and orchestral works, and has also been a guest performer on many recordings by other performers and groups in Kurdistan. In 2017, Peik's accomplishments garnered the attention of Arsalan Kamkar and Ardeshir Kamkar, who soon encouraged Peik to continue composing music for orchestra. His professional career in film scoring began in 2012. Through his inherent talent and hard work, he has completed many successful projects over the past years, such as animation series, short films, movies, and documentaries. He is also the founder and conductor of the "Sanandaj Chamber Orchestra - SCO" since 2017, a group that has become very popular and remains one of the best orchestral folk groups to date.
