Kowloon Cowboy is named after the hotel where my parents had their first date, the Walled City where they did social work, and a 90’s Wild West themed bar in Tsim Sha Tsui. Now I eat disgusting pies and record distorted guitars on the English coast.
I'm lucky to be joined by Gary Yay (Telegraphs) on bass and Charlie Stanley (The Ordinary Boys) on drums. These songs are about fictional characters at points of great change, influenced by Mark Fisher's interpretation of Hauntology through the lens of an imagined Hong Kong. We literally have a rulebook for this:
