Kowloon Cowboy is named after the hotel where my parents had their first date, the Walled City where they did social work, and a 90’s Wild West themed bar in Tsim Sha Tsui. Now I eat disgusting pies and record distorted guitars on the English coast.
I'm lucky to be joined by Gary Yay (<a href="spotify:artist:36aKRp4NoayMudwGtHEUX1" data-name="Telegraphs">Telegraphs</a>) on bass and Charlie Stanley (<a href="spotify:artist:2xPxXPgmZFs7x6xRFpHwkq" data-name="The Ordinary Boys">The Ordinary Boys</a>) on drums. These songs are about fictional characters at points of great change, influenced by Mark Fisher's interpretation of Hauntology through the lens of an imagined Hong Kong. We literally have a rulebook for this:
