A Malaysian hip-hop/pop hybrid trio made up of brothers Norman Abdul Halim, Yusry Abdul Halim, and Edry Abdul Halim, KRU -- pronounced as an acronym, yet not actually one -- formed in 1992 at the behest of a well-known producer who fell in love with a demo of their work. The band was soon signed to Warner Asia, which released the debut, Canggih.
