KYEONG HAM

South Korean Oboist Kyeong Ham (Born in 1993) was a highest prize winner at many international oboe competitions, including the ARD Competition Munich in 2017, the Carl Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition in Copenhagen in 2015, the Muri oboe competition in Switzerland in 2013, the International Oboe and Bassoon Competition in Lódz, Poland in 2011, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory International Winds and Percussion Competition in Moscow in 2010, and the Richard Lauschmann International Oboe Competition in Mannheim in 2009. He studied under Nicholas Daniel in Trossingen and Dominik Wollenweber in Berlin. At the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic he was taught by Jonathan Kelly. Kyeong Ham has been guest principal oboist with several leading European orchestras, such as the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Budapest Festival Orchestra, Bergen Philharmonic and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. He has also been principal oboe with the Staatsoper Hannover and second oboe /cor anglais with Amsterdam's Concertgebouw Orchestra. Kyeong Ham is currently co-principal oboe with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and teaches at the Sibelius Academy.
