Laïka is the first French singer to sign with the
Verve Records label of Universal Music Group.
With four albums to her name, she has been
featured in collaborations with luminaries like
Roy Hargrove, Robert Glasper, and Meshell
Ndegeocello.
Her contributions extend beyond her solo work,
as she participated in pianist Ran Blake’s recor-
ding “Cocktails At Dusk“, and was showcased on
Disney’s homage recording entitled “Jazz Loves
Disney“ alongside Gregory Porter and Jamie
Cullum. Furthermore, she graced the stage at
the Luminato Festival to pay tribute to Joni Mit-
chell on her 70th Birthday Concert at Massey
Hall in Toronto, Canada.
In recognition of her artistry, Laïka was selected
as the European muse at the Universal Exhibi-
tion of Aïchi, Japan, by the renowned Japanese
designer Issey Miyake. Her music, charac-
terized by its minimalism and generosity, has
consistently delved into themes of love, union
and separation.
In addition to her music career, Laïka has ventu-
red into the realm of theatrical performance as
a singer-actress, performing Madame Zajj in “A
Drum Is A Woman“, directed by Jérôme Savary
at the Théâtre National de Chaillot. She also
portrayed Celestina del Sol in the jazz opera
“La Tectonique des Nuages“, composed by Lau-
rent Cugny and directed by François Rancillac
at the Théâtre de la Ville, Opéras de Nantes et
Angers.
