Singer/songwriter Landon McNamara was born and grew up in Oahu, Hawaii in a family full of award-winning surfers. Before pursuing musical aspirations, McNamara both surfed competitively and had a bright modeling career, appearing in various campaigns including a music-centric feature for American Eagle. He grew up listening to Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix, and was also a neighbor with easygoing singer/songwriter Jack Johnson, watching Johnson simultaneously excel at both music stardom and surfing -- and feeling inspired to follow a similar path. In 2016 he began work on his debut album, A Dollar Short & a Minute Late, working with producer Noah Cronin on the album's acoustic reggae-tinged pop songs. The album was released in December of 2016 and quickly climbed the charts, sitting for a time at number one on digital and Billboard reggae charts. In October of 2017, McNamara responded to mass shootings in America and abroad with his socially conscious single "Loss for Words." ~ Fred Thomas
