Lapush

Lapush was formed in St. Louis, Missouri in 2003 by brothers <a href="spotify:artist:5qA1t3T5DDt2KWUCCHO0hY" data-name="Thom Donovan">Thom Donovan</a> and Stephen Donovan. The original lineup consisted of Thom Donovan (guitar and vocals), Stephen Donovan (guitar and vocals), Kevin Bachmann (bass), Casey Bazzell (keyboards and vocals), and Brett Voelker (drums). The band was named after La Push, Washington; a small community in Washington state. The name La Push is an infusion of the French la bouche, meaning &#34;mouth&#34;, into Chinook Jargon. It describes the town&#39;s location at the mouth of the river. Instead of separating &#39;La Push&#39;, the band combined the two into one word, &#39;Lapush&#39;. Stephen and Casey left the band in late 2004 and Lapush continued as a trio.

Lapush signed to Carson Daly&#39;s Universal imprint, 456, in late 2004. The band&#39;s debut album &#34;Someplace Closer to Here&#34; was released in 2005—featuring the singles &#39;Aurora&#39; and &#39;Say Something&#39;. The band toured the US, opening for Hot Hot Heat, Nikka Costa, and Kill Hannah. Lapush made their network television debut performing on the Carson Daly show on NBC in December 2005, performing two songs; &#34;Tout Le Monde&#34; and &#34;Quit You Now&#34;. Brett left the band in 2006 and was replaced by Brad Booker from <a href="spotify:artist:4RqnVnpq5R0R5rJKeV9pWc" data-name="Stir">Stir</a>.

&#34;Modern Blues&#34; was released in 2007 and featured the singles &#39;Closer&#39; and &#39;Run&#39;. The band&#39;s music appeared regularly in TV shows Laguna Beach and The Hills on MTV and Moonlight on CBS.
