The project of <a href="spotify:artist:7HeVXdOdMhLslVputGTZFQ">Timber Timbre</a>'s Simon Trottier and Olivier Fairfield, Last Ex came into being when the duo decided to expand an unused score for the horror movie Last Exorcism Part II that <a href="spotify:artist:7HeVXdOdMhLslVputGTZFQ">Timber Timbre</a> developed in 2012. The pair began fleshing out these ideas with more instrumentation and textures at Fairfield's studio, inviting fellow <a href="spotify:artist:7HeVXdOdMhLslVputGTZFQ">Timber Timbre</a> members Taylor Kirk and Mika Posen to contribute drums, guitar, and strings.
