Beginning in 2011, the Pittsburgh, Pa. based ensemble Silencio developed a highly regarded show that meticulously recreated the soundtracks and sonic landscapes of director David Lynch's film catalog. The group received numerous accolades and was recognized world-wide as the flagship act of its kind. Their performances predated the return of the critically acclaimed series Twin Peaks by nearly 7 years and also prompted the release of 2 album's worth of original material.

Silencio's first album "Music Inspired by the Works of David Lynch & Angelo Badalamenti" (2012) was a self-produced, self-released effort intended to be nothing more than a demo recording. The album's eerie vibe and simple but slick production made it an unexpected surprise to both Lynch fans and audiophiles alike. Its quick buzz and enthusiastic reception led to the official formation of Silencio as a live act. The press also caught the buzz as Silencio would receive mentions in major publications like Rolling Stone, All About Jazz, TimeOutNY, Downbeat and The Huffington Post.

Despite the fact that their live shows are essentially paid in tribute, Silencio is a paradox in their own right. Their original music offers so much more than just an interpretation of David Lynch's film soundtracks. Instead, they explode and enhance the compositional aspects of the many disparate, rootsy musical styles he chooses that make his films so unique.
