Songwriter Liam Cooper has been creating music for over a decade now but when it comes to his personal connection to the craft, it’s a bond that stretches all the way back to early childhood.
Surrounded by instruments from a young age, then developing his talents as a pianist and singer during his formative years, Cooper found his footing early when it came to the type of artistry he’d go on to develop more in later years.
His is a sound formed around lush and emotive instrumentation, anchored by heartfelt and open storytelling. 2021 sees Cooper release a brand new collection of music, pointing towards what stands to be a fruitful year of music ahead. Recorded over late 2020 and early 2021 with longtime friend and collaborator Andrew Banovich (<a href="spotify:artist:7CFtg726anbQC3CY0glRDG" data-name="The Vanns">The Vanns</a>), instrumentalist and engineer Sean Carey, guitarist Noa Kidd and synths player Beau Golder (<a href="spotify:artist:5xkAtLTf309LAGZTbvULBn" data-name="Ruel">Ruel</a>), Cooper’s contemporary vision for his music thrived in the studio.
The final result, the Lonely Nights EP, has a timeless sound to it. It serves as equal parts reintroduction as much as it acts as a reminder of the natural talents he’s harnessed as a songwriter. Lonely Nights is the beginning of a new creative chapter for Cooper, who anticipates debuting his rejuvenated and spirited new sound for longtime fans and newcomers alike.
